30 September Homecoming 07' - JVHSWow. A lot has happened since I've last blogged. So homecoming has come by. We've had a whole week of Homecoming celebrations. Here's how the week went by: Monday : Crazy Hair day Tuesday : Cowboy hat day Wednesday : Crazy hair day Thursday : Mix-match day Friday : Purple Out day (school color) So yeah. That's pretty much the fun days. On Wednesday, 9/26/07, we had a homecoming parade. It was pretty ok. I was expecting more spectators though. The floats were pretty nice, for a high school, and it was kind of fun. I took a lot of videos around the preparation work. As the parade went on, for a few blocks around JVHS, the people on the floats tossed out candy. Lots of candy. Lots landed on the ground. If it were me, I wouldn't bother picking up the candy lying all over the ground, it just seemed disgusting. But nope. Kids and even grown-ups went around, looking for some good candy to eat. The parade ended near the football area behind the school, and there was some more spirit stuff going on, like dance routines from the cheerleads and Gold Dusters, and we got to see who are really the candidates for Homecoming King and Queen. I made a quik (and horrible) video of the highlights and uploaded them on YouTube and Soapbox. Unfortunately, Soapbox has become awful lately, so I only have a YouTube version: I'll give an update post to the Homecoming Dance later. Unfortunately, I couldn't go to the Game itself. But we did win 42-10! We didn't win last year, so this was great. 26 September I'll be gone for awhile againI won't be writing any blog posts for the next few days. I've got tons of work to catch up with. Even as I write. As much as I want to blog, I have work. Which means limited internet time (for fun). I'm working on being better time management, and doing things better. So please excuse my absence for the next few days. Life has been more difficult for me lately. 23 September I saw Lucy! The fossil!I saw the Lucy fossil exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science today. It was really neat. As a native Houstonian, I of course, had to take a peek at Lucy. If you don't know, Lucy is that fossil from in Ethiopia. The controversy over whether Lucy should be left in Ethiopia so that her remains will not be ruined, or if the public has the right to see her. In my opinion, I think (and expect) museums who are borrowing fossils and other artifacts to be quite careful and understand the fragility of them. So I doubt Lucy is just going to smashed apart so easy. And the public deserves to see something of evolution or science or whatever. Whether you believe in it or not, the exhibit is there to show something. Well anyways, I couldn't take any pictures of Lucy, because the museum staff worries about flash photography (which I NEVER use flash) will expose a lot of light on the artifacts, and make them decay a lot faster. Or something like that. But I took a couple pictures and videos around the museum and the park. I'll post them tomorrow, and give a full review of my trip. If I have time tomorrow, which I'll make time tomorrow. 22 September I uploaded several video of JVHS to SoapboxI uploaded several videos to Soapbox. These are videos of my school. Jersey Village High School. I don't talk - just walk. It's like a view of what I walk through everyday at JVHS. Here's 2 videos:
Here's my profile for more. So nothing much else has gone on, besides a ton of homework. 16 September My Sophomore year - the most boring year so farThis year seems real dull. I've got boring classes and boring teachers. Man, do I miss last year. Life hasn't changed much. It's still boring. I'm still in the process of moving. I just got internet and cable last Wednesday. This year, I strive to be more out-going, fun, and handsome. Here's my class schedule if you're wondering what it is:
That's about it. Nothing new or exciting. I do really like this girl though. She's like one of those smart, pretty, nice girls. I mean, she's so awesome - in a way that she could do anything. She's so amazing to me. I liked her last year too. When I first saw her in Geometry, I knew I would have the hots for her. I'm thinking of telling her, but I have trouble with this. We only have one class together (chemistry) and nothing else in common. We are lab partners a lot though. I also just want to tell her, just to tell her. Just for her to acknowledge that. I'm not interested in dating or relationships. I'm not that kind of guy. So does anybody have any idea how I should go about this? Until then, I'll try blogging if there's anything good. 12 September I'm back!!Wow. It's been a long time since I've been connected. After a long time of waiting for the internet/cable company to come, I've finally got connected. I really hope that now that Comcast took over the Houston market, they'll do a better job than Time Warner did. So far, based on what I've seen (tough support calls, long waits, higher bills for so-called "better service"), I'm not impressed. But it's better than nothing. So it's going to take me awhile to update and catch-up with the ever-changing Internet. It feels great to be back. Enjoy my pictures of the sunset from my old house. |
